How to Get Rid of Dark Knees

Skin around ankle, elbow & knees are loose and have multiple fold as well as these areas of body are commonly exposed to pressure and friction which leads to thickening of skin leading to dark skin.

Thick & dead skin accumulation is most common reason for dark knees and elbow skin. It becomes embracing for girls who have habit of wearing shorts.

Good news about dark skin around such joints is that most of the time it does not linked to any pathological reason and we can treat it easily in home.

We just need to treat causes of thick skin and remove dead skin tissues and knees will look fair again.

There are plenty home remedies available to get rid of dark knees.

Apply Moisturizer

Applying moisturiser to dark, thick and dry skin is a common sense.

Wash your knee, elbow & ankles with warm water and apply skin moisturiser, before going to bed.

Do these for couple of days so skin become soft and removing dead tissues becomes easy.

Apply Scrub of Coconut Oil & Sugar

Take four tablespoon of warm coconut oil and two tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl. Mix both ingredients together and apply this mixture to dark knees & elbows.

Now, scrub it for two to three minutes & wash it off with warm water.

Apply Mask of Baking soda & Milk

Apply this mask immediately after using scrub of coconut oil and sugar.

Take four tablespoon of milk and two tablespoon of baking soda. Mix it together & apply this mixture to knees and elbows in circular motion.

Leave it there for next 10 minutes or until it become dry. Wash it off and apply soft skin lotion.

Repeat this every two days for couple of weeks and see the results.

Turmeric Powder with milk & honey

It’s an open secret that turmeric powder is an old age beauty product that can lighten skin and have anti-septic benefits. When mixed with honey and milk turmeric powder can make wonders to your dark knees and elbows.

Add four to five tablespoon of milk to two tablespoon of honey. Mix thoroughly and add one tablespoon of turmeric powder and make a smooth paste.

Apply this paste to dark areas of skin on knee and elbows & keep it for half an hour.

After 25 minutes, wet your hands and rub the areas for two minutes where paste is applied. Then wash it off.

Repeat the procedure after every 4 to 5 days till you see the results.

Honey & Lemon

Honey and Lemon Jar

Honey moisturizes the skin while lemon has anti-oxidant properties.

Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with equal amount of honey & apply this mixture to dark skin on knees.

Keep the mixture for 20 minutes then wash it off.

Repeat this procedure twice a week for two to three weeks.
